THERE'S SOMETHING ABOUT BILL

ENDLESS SUMMER
And you thought travel your plans were hectic.

20
. Number of US states, districts and territories (including Washington, DC, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands) visited by Gov. Bill Richardson since May 1. During that time, Richardson  visited four states (California, Iowa, New Hampshire and Nevada) at least three times each.

And you thought travel your plans were hectic.

10. Number of states visited by Richardson during the first half (June 1-15) of this month.

25. Number of individual cities Richardson will have visited for campaign events in the first two weeks of June. Richardson will have visited seven cities in California (the most of any state) during that time.

47. Number of official campaign events attended by Richardson during the first half of June. Of those, 22 events are specifically identified as fund-raisers. Seven of those fund-raisers were located in California, the most of any state (followed by New Mexico and Texas, both with four).

1. Number of days during the first half of this month where Richardson had no official campaign events scheduled. The governor took June 8 off.

11,052. Approximate number of nautical miles flown by Richardson during the first half of June. Richardson has previously flown on commercial flights for campaign trips—like most of his campaign staff—but mostly relies on private planes.

$2.98. Approximate cost, per nautical mile, to operate an airplane like the Cessna Citation Bravo airplane Richardson procured for state government use in 2006. The Richardson campaign did not divulge the aircraft used by the governor for campaign trips, but he will have spent approximately $21,387.60 (or about $11.80 per minute and $1,053.07 per hour of flying time) on fuel in the first half of June alone using a plane similar to the Cessna Citation Bravo.
