The guv hits the early states hard.

12.
The total number of states that Gov. Bill Richardson visited for official presidential campaign visits during July. The tally is down slightly from June, when Richardson visited 15 states (including the District of Columbia).

81. Approximate number of official campaign events Richardson attended during July. At least 50 of those events were held in only two states: New Hampshire (29 events) and Iowa (21 events). The next closest state was South Carolina, which hosted eight official events.

42. The number of different cities and towns in New Hampshire (22) and Iowa (20) visited by Richardson during July. Of those, several (such as Concord in New Hampshire and Des Moines in Iowa) received multiple visits from the governor.

28. Total number of “Presidential Job Interview” events attended by Richardson during July. All 28 were held in either New Hampshire (10) or Iowa (18), the early primary/caucus states where Richardson’s popular “Job Interview” television ads have aired. Richardson will also host eight “interview” events in eight different Iowa cities in just two days later this week (Aug. 2-3).

1. The number of days in which Richardson visited California for official campaign stops during the month of July. Richardson had spent a portion of at least five days in the state during June (the most of any state during that month).

9. The number of individual days in which Richardson made at least one appearance in New Hampshire during July, the most of any state. Iowa was second with six days while South Carolina was third (four days) and New Mexico fourth (three days).

166. Days remaining (as of Aug. 1) until the 2008 Iowa Democratic presidential caucus. There are 171 days remaining until the Nevada caucus, 174 days before the first-in-the-nation New Hampshire Democratic presidential primary, 181 days before the South Carolina primary and 188 days before “Super Tuesday”.

11. The percentage of voters in New Hampshire and Iowa who currently favor Bill Richardson for president, according to recent polls in both states.
