About Flying Star Café

Flying Star Cafe's Santa Fe home is in the Railyard district. The casual restaurant is open late (for Santa Fe) so you can enjoy warm pie, burgers, coffee, and even breakfast throughout the day. The wide ranging menu of comfort food makes for persistent crowds and lingering cafe dwellers.

I loved the food and the atmosphere! I think residents and tourists alike are very lucky to have such an abundance of great and relatively cheap eats through out town. Let's get real though and not be so quick to complain about prices because believe me go anywhere else outside of NM and restaurant prices are crazy! The Flying Star is worth it and a great addition to my fantastic and beloved Santa Fe!

Flying Star is an expensive "tourist" restaurant! I'm glad they are treating their employees right with the wages and benefits. Don't think I'll be eating there too many times, maybe grab a cup of coffee.

I ate there the first week, and the place is in their shake-down cruise as any new restaurant. It only opened a little over a month ago. First thing I will say is that Flying Star is customer friendly with a genuine orientation to please. Yes, the menu is pricey, but to open a 7 day a week, late night full menu restaurant is a rarity and this company is a local New Mexican-owned restuarant now employing 100 Santa Feans in a down economy and everyone of those employees enjoy above average wages plus medical and dental insurance and 401(k). THAT is very much a rarity in the restaurant business. Also, not everyone wants an exclusively Southwestern type menu -- even in Santa Fe. Their menu is unique and varied with plenty of veggie, organic, and comfort food. I'm looking forward to the completion of the patio (petio?). I'm sure it will soon be one of the comfortable casual hang-out places for locals as well as tourists by mid-summer. Give the restaurant a couple of months before you pass final judgment.

I thought the food was mediocre at best, and couldn't even plain iced tea. It's definitely not diabetic friendly.

Flying Star is a great restaurant! I'm glad we finally have one in Santa Fe! I've always been impressed with their menu and the wide selections. I sincerely hope it does well here. Best of luck! :)

Pulled this up to read about Flying Star & it has the name of Winds of Choice Chiropractic center on Ricards Ave. What is this all about? This is a total typo & needs to be corrected to give the address of the Flying Star. Please Fix it & give credit where it should.

Flying Star is expensive, comparitively speaking. They have a nice atmosphere and their desserts are delicious. Their food is okay but not great, especially compared to many other places in Santa Fe. I have never found any of their dishes with green chile to have any spice at all to them, which I found disappointing.

$6.00 for a bowel of oatmeal, I think it's expensive. I suppose someone that's not worried about $$$$$ wouldn't.

Oh please. Flying Star is wonderfully priced and the food rocks and the atmosphere is so wonderful and relaxing and there's free WIFI. I swear, nothing new can come into Santa Fe without someone complaining. Flying Star is a wonderful asset to Santa Fe and I am so very glad we have one here finally. Add to that that the location is great.
