Kristin Lora Jewelry Exhibition
Ordinary objects become unique, offbeat pieces of jewelry in the hands of Kristin Lora. Her jewelry collections include sterling silver animals, felted fabric beads and tiny human figures that sit inside earring hoops or necklace links. Some of her most interesting pieces are from her “Shadowboxes” collection, in which teeny-tiny glass display boxes are filled with miniature beads, delicate watch parts or gemstones to create detailed little pieces of flare.
Her collection “Brush” turns precisely cut paintbrush tips into earrings and necklaces, the soft hairs flaring and angling to form design-focused baubles. Lora discusses what inspires her in an Artist Tea, the first event in a monthly series. (Charlotte Jusinski)
