If you have yet to make it out to the Santa Fe Brewing Company for any of the awesome shows this summer, you’ve really been missing out. To have a venue capable of hosting some of the biggest names in music is a godsend for our little city. Furthermore, the patio atmosphere is nothing short of enchanting—even though I feel gross using that word. No more excuses, Santa Fe. You owe it to yourself to suck it up and get out there. Luckily, the perfect excuse is just around the corner when Canada’s Cowboy Junkies comes through town. The Junkies’ career has lasted well over 20 years and includes solid albums, unbelievable live performances and the shock that three siblings could manage to play in a band together and still be able to stand one another. The band’s most recent album, At The End Of Paths Taken, is vintage Cowboy Junkies—a pop album wrought with dark themes and interesting musicianship. You know if a band lasts for two decades and still turns out interesting material, there’s sure to be plenty of talent and innovation going around.
