A rally in support of New Mexico's driver's license law was held today in front of the Roundhouse. Click here to watch the video.
The rally, sponsored by pro-immigrant group Somos Un Pueblo Unido, featured several state lawmakers and a Catholic priest from Roswell. It came in sharp contrast to a tea party rally Tuesday that denounced the law, which allows undocumented immigrants to purchase state driver's licenses.
Gov. Susana Martinez, a Republican, has vowed to make efforts to repeal the law during the special session.
Your paper too huh? These racially/politically motivated Hispanic organizations and lawmakers are "Undocumented" or "illegal" immigrant activists. This is an issue about issuing NM drvers licenses to immigrants who are here illegally. I love immigrants, almost married one but we do have laws, weather we agree with them or not. Every country has immigration laws. Why is it the US is called racist for any kind of half ass attempt at enforcing it's laws. Our Federal government is even suing its States for passing laws to do things the Feds are suppose to be doing. How Ass backward is that?
Two kinds of immigrants, those with papers, those without. This rally is for those without.
