When SFR
a month ago on local efforts to pressure the New Mexico Department of Transportation and the Mid-Region Council of Governments to extend the Rail Runner's service to the evening hours to accommodate the entertainment and culture industry, barely 100 people had signed up with the Facebook "Cause"
Call for Culture Friendly NM Rail Runner Schedule
.
According to today's
, starting this weekend the Rail Runner will be running on a regular Saturday schedule: "Saturday trains will depart Santa Fe five times between 8 a.m. and 10 p.m., with northbound trips beginning in Albuquerque between 6:20 a.m. and 7:46 p.m."
That's slightly earlier than the earlier proposal, which oughta irk Giuseppe Quinn and Danielle Reddick, who launched the Facebook movement. SFR's own Zane Fischer will probably also be irate, having become the "top recruiter" for the Facebook cause....which, as of Thursday morning, boasted a
whopping 993 members
, a nearly 10-fold increase since December.
With today's story, SFR expects the membership to break 1,000. So, if you're the 1,000th Facebooker to join the club today, we'll give you a special hero's shout-out here on our new blog.

And the special, super duper 1,000th member hero is Sarah Pacheco, from Albuquerque!
