In fact, owner Justin Young takes pride in SFBC's commitment to treating bands like professionals and their music with the respect it deserves--that includes a good sound system, a cool audience and the right attitude.
"We're a music venue where the band's music is dealt with sensitively," Young says. "We're a family restaurant that has a music venue as part of it; I don't like to think of us as a bar. We take the acts seriously; we don't just see what they can do for us. We see what we can do for them." This respect makes really great bands want to come back again and again, so for everything from Frogfest to open mic night to the Cowboy Junkies to They Might Be Giants, the Pub & Grill sounds good, looks good and feels good for everyone involved.
