1 Chocolate Maven Bakery & Café

It would be a sin to forget the entrées at this incredible bakery and restaurant in an out-of-the-way industrial part of the city. Sure, the highlights here are the almond fudge brownies, the Belgian chocolate brownies, the white chocolate chunk brownies…oh hell! Who are we kidding? It’s the brownies!
Those huge, ooey-gooey, double-layer, double dark choc-orgasms. Woo hoo! They make us want to pull a “When Harry Met Sally” so loud they can hear it over the hum of the industrial mixers in the back. Honestly, there are many, many desserts at Chocolate Maven that curl our toes. But the food—hot and cold sandwiches, crisp salads and thin-crusted pizzas—isn’t an afterthought. In some ways it’s a shame the desserts Maven is known for overshadow the excellent breakfast, lunch and brunch fare.
gwSo next time you go to Chocolate Maven, try eating a sandwich in the restaurant and taking dessert to go. That way you can enjoy it in private.
