1 Tommy Archuleta
In the ’80s, Tommy Archuleta found himself at a friend’s house checking out a drum kit, and that was it for him; he knew he was going to be a drummer.
He then discovered punk rock but, unlike so many of us who regard the style as a passing phase, he never stopped loving it. Archuleta is, for all intents and purposes, punk rock/garage band royalty. Having played in bands like Disasterman, Face Down and 27 Devils Joking, Archuleta now has several projects going, including garage rock duo Angola Farms. Tommy Archuleta is the essence of what the Santa Fe scene should be about.
He works hard, plays constantly and never stops trying out new things with new musicians. Santa Fe’s scene is extremely important to Archuleta. “Being that we’re a bit rural, we have to work harder than a larger city to keep it going,” he says. “I want to contribute to the scene through the art of my own projects, as well as be supportive of all the projects around me.”
This is the proper attitude to have and only makes this honor all the sweeter. Cheers to you, Tommy Archuleta.
