If there’s nothing more relaxing than a good massage, then Ten Thousand Waves just might be the most relaxing place in the world.
And that’s hardly an exaggeration, Mary Johnson, public relations manager for Ten Thousand Waves, says. The home of Santa Fe’s favorite massage has earned national recognition in Sunset Magazine, The New York Times and the Travel Channel. All this success hasn’t caused Ten Thousand Waves to forget its roots, though; the company gives back through donations, working with the community and discounts for locals. Santa Feans can take advantage of this discount to explore all the otherworldly comforts the retreat offers, including two remodeled tubs that opened in October, the Ichiban bath, the Shoji with walk-down cold plunge, cooling burst and special lighting, a pool shower, sauna and a changing room with complimentary foot bath.
This is all on top of more than 130 highly trained massage therapists (all meet the Waves’ high criteria, which includes at least 650 hours of training from an accredited massage school, as well as other professional standards) currently available for everything from Swedish massage to Thai to hot stone and more. It’s exhausting just listing it all…this definitely calls for a massage. (Alex Roberts)
