Jennifer Forman and husband Dan opened Toyopolis nine years ago because they saw a need for children’s toys—both for children in the area and for themselves. “My husband and I love toys. He loves comic books, original artwork from comics; he’s always appreciated action figures. I love all the wooden toys, toys that feel really good when you hold them,” Jennifer says. That love for toys is reflected in the store’s selection, which ranges from the hottest new action figures (Transformers!!!) to hand-painted Schleich figurines, which, according to Foreman, allow kids to “create their own scenes using their imagination. We like toys that inspire creativity.” For those who aren’t so creative about inspiring creativity, the staff of five (including the Formans) is always ready to offer up helpful and appropriate suggestions, as well as free gift wrap.
