La Casa Sena, the restaurant in the lovely historic courtyard of Sena Plaza, has an enormous wine list. If you’re looking to choose from approximately nine dozen different bottles of Bordeaux and you’re looking to spend anywhere from $50 to $2,000, you will not be disappointed.
But neither will a casual wine drinker who just wants a glass of pinot noir to go with her duck. The by-the-glass prices range from $7.50 (fairly standard for Santa Fe) up to nearly $30, but the more expensive glasses allow you to try wines you probably would never buy if you had to fork over the cash for a whole bottle. Don’t be intimidated by the massive selection here (or at Rio Chama, where there is a similarly huge cellar). Look at it as an opportunity to try some things you’ve never tried before.
Sitting in Sena Plaza on a sunny afternoon, slowly working on a bottle of something that reminds you of your last trip to Italy—that’s a great way to spend a day.
