owner Jamie Lenfestey confirmed to SFR in an email that the venue "has unfortunately indeed been forced to cease all operations indefinitely." ---
"It is my hope and belief that a new entity will arise to take on the operations of the venue in the not too distant future," continues Lenfestey, "hopefully in time to capitalize on the great patio stage (which Santa Fe needs more than ever with the demise of Paolo) and continue the tradition of great live music that was begun there three plus years ago."
Lenfestey says he currently is looking for a new venue for the shows he had already booked at the Brewing Co.
In a reversal from last week, owner of the Santa Fe Brewing Company (the beer operation) Brian Lock tells SFR that he believes after the Boris McCutcheon and The Salt Licks show this Friday, Dec. 17, the Pub & Grill portion of the venue (which is responsible for food and music) will be "closed indefinitely." ---
Although last week Lock spoke to SFR on behalf of the Pub & Grill, he says the Santa Fe Brewing Company is not affiliated with the Pub & Grill, which he says only shares a parking lot and website. At the time, Lock told SFR of the Pub & Grill, "We just decided to close Mondays and Tuesdays for winter%uFFFDWe're not closing. We're staying open, refining our direction."
Today SFR also received an email from Jason Reed, who runs the popular open mic night at the Pub & Grill. According to Reed, the open mic night is canceled for the rest of the month.
"The Pub and Grill is going through some changes," he writes. "We'll just say it's without a management team at the moment. So it needs to close for a bit, in order to restructure itself."
Reed also says the McCutcheon show will be the last of the year.
"I've been told that they're going to aim for getting it running again some time after New Years," Reed writes.
SFR is awaiting return calls from Pub & Grill owners/operators David Laubi and Bill Woolston.
