More than 41,521 voters have already cast ballots in the New Mexico statewide election, and early voting this weekend is likely to up the turnout even more.
In-person voting is available in Santa Fe County on Saturday from 10 am-6 pm at six sites:
- Santa Fe County Fair Building, 3229 Rodeo Road
- Christian Life Church, 121 Siringo Road
- Max Coll Corridor Community Center, 16 Avenida Torreon, Eldorado
- Pojoaque County Satellite Offices, Pojoaque Pueblo Plaza, 5 W Gutierrez, Ste. 9
- Abedon Lopez Community Center, 155-A Camino De Quintana, Santa Cruz
- Edgewood Elementary School, 285 Dinkle Road, Edgewood
While it's the state's second-most populated county, voters in Doña Ana County make up the biggest proportion of ballots so far, casting 7,351 votes compared to 5,859 in Bernalillo County, according to data released by the Secretary of State's Office on Friday. Santa Fe's voters have turned in 3,962 ballots so far.
Part of the reason for the outsized turnout in the southernmost county is from voters weighing the congressional seat that Steve Pearce gave up to run for governor. In that race, Republican state Sen. Yvette Herrell is facing off against Democrat attorney Xochitl Torres Small, and polls show the contest is tight.
Local races in Santa Fe County include County Commission District 3.
Early voting at the sites above locations are also open Tuesday through Friday from noon-8 pm through Nov. 2. The hours for Saturday, Nov. 3 are also 10 am-6 pm. Election day is Nov. 6, and polls are open from 7 am-7 pm statewide.
