Santa Feans love bumper stickers—perhaps even more than they love Priuses, but not more than they love Priuses covered with bumper stickers.
Bumper stickers mean you have something to say and you're not afraid of risking damage to your car to say it (not aloud but in writing, someone else's writing).
In pursuit of saying (or not) what's on their minds, Santa Feans incited the Bumper Sticker Arms Race in the '80s, right after cars were invented. Going sticker for sticker in pursuit of what they believed, Santa Feans accumulated a whole host of bumper stickers and, by extension, opinions.
Now Santa Fe faces the pinnacle or perdition of its civilization as bumper sticker activism has reached an all-time high with this vehicle: The Bumpinator.
Or perhaps this bumper-sticker-clad vehicle is just an exercise in irony of the über meta kind.
