Don't believe everything you read, especially if you're reading something on a quickly alterable screen (ahem). Don't belive me? Good instincts.%uFFFDCheck out this week's Eyedroppers.

Some friends and I were trolling Comcast's on-demand FearNet (we have really good taste in all things) for a rainy-night movie when we stumbled on this gem of copywriting ennui/malevolence for Lou Diamond Phillips vehicle Route 666. The offending line:%uFFFD"A prison chain gang is mysteriously killed on a lonely road, which is probably good." "Which is probably good"?! Don't get me wrong; the Eyedropper loves blatant and inscendiary editorializing. We'd just prefer it had some conscience behind it. And that it weren't pro-death penalty.
Second digitial offense of the week: S. Guadalupe Street%uFFFDAllSups ostensibly hawking%uFFFD$8.65-per gallon gas. Third offense: Plenty of people were getting gas there.%uFFFD It was Fourth of July weekend but does that mean people ignore gas prices altogether? So for every person like me, who'll%uFFFDrun out of gas%uFFFDrather than pay swollen holiday-weekend gas prices, there are at least four people at AllSups who wouldn't notice $6 extra a gallon. Anyone got a siphon?
