In April, former Thornburg board member Eliot Cutler announced his candidacy for governor of
Maine
. According to a May 26 Portland Press Herald story, Cutler put $240,000 of his own money into his campaign.
Cutler is running as an independent; his platform includes cutting Medicare and other public assistance programs.
During Thornburg Mortgage’s troubled final year, Cutler claimed $159,000 in compensation—including $26,000 after the company’s
in May 2009.
