In a day fraught with East Asian-appropriative events, I made my way to the Cross of the Martyrs with some friends and a bottle of sake. Who did I behold atop the hill but one George Washington Hayduke, surely a nod to the young man's love of the outdoors and his athletic prowess. GWH, who claims to go by Coiled Water Dragon on YouTube (I cannot find him), was amid an epic sword battle with the Cross of the Martyrs. In his few chance breaks, he did manage some demands on my friends and passersby: a sip, a cigarette and reefer. He got a cigarette. Though he fought valiantly, in the end, the Cross of the Martyrs, in all its steel I-beam glory, won. [
