SFR was on the scene for the Tea Party tax protest yesterday. Most noteworthy was the soundtrack: Incredibly earnest patriotic songs—including a
march or two—played far too loud over the Plaza.
No surprise, there were lots of anti- "
" signs waved around by people old enough to claim Social Security benefits; one
retired police officer
told SFR he'd never taken any government money, unlike "
couch lizards
" on welfare.
No surprise, too, that we ran into a couple of Republican candidates out vote-fishing. Witness:

, whose campaign staff were handing out stapled photocopies of
and the Tea Party, is running for US Rep. Ben Ray Luján's seat; Kokesh faces Farmington Republican Tom Mullins in the June primary.
