Maybe it's because Santa Fe is such a dog town so it offers a large selection, but lately I've been finding a number of dogs that have really brightened my day. Take Onyx for instance, whom fellow SFR staffer Patricia Sauthoff and I spotted on Marcy Street. He was being walked by his owner's mom and was giving her hell—that adorable kind of hell you just can't get enough of—attacking his leash and generally thwarting authority. He was young, feisty and felt like a teddy bear: a dog napper's (and my) dream. So forget the recession for a minute and look deep into Onyx's feral puppy eyes.
Well, there's your moment of Friday afternoon bliss.
