Shohko has always been extremely popular. Even when the founding owners left and there was grumbling that the quality had gone downhill it still survived. Last year the founders returned to
retake their pride and joy and the grumbling turned to happy babbling again.

This is a very pretty building-a former bordello-with a soothing all-white interior, and the service is always warm and friendly. The sushi is beautifully made with exceptionally fresh fish. The list of vegetarian sushi is
notable; meat-free friends rave about the vegetable tempura roll and pickled daikon radish rolls. But real sushi fans zero in on specialties like the intensely rich and flavorful monkfish liver, and the carpaccio salad made from wafer-thin slices of salmon, octopus and Japanese red snapper. Shohko even offers five different kinds of tuna, from the familiar albacore to the deluxe bluefin toro. Mmm…bluefin toro.
