If you have kids, this weekend is a good time to shop for all kinds of stuff they'll need the upcoming school year.
Today through Sunday is a the state's annual "tax holiday," but it's not a blanket sale. Shoppers avoid paying gross receipts tax on certain items if they're under a certain price: Clothing and shoes have to be under $100, laptops and computers $1,000 and related computer hardware $500.
And not everything will be touched by the tax-free gods this weekend. For example: Baseball gloves, certain E-readers, eyewear and chalkboards will still be taxable.
The state put out a big ol’ list of stuff that is and isn’t subject to a tax this weekend. Here is that list. Click it, peruse it, print it, screencap it, save it , and use it before the weekend ends.
