The designers at local firm Anagr.am, a team that includes former SFR opinion columnist Zane Fischer, didn't have Santa Fe Mayor David Coss in mind when they devised a hypothetical Santa Fe metro map, but they may as well have.
In addition to being mayor, Coss is currently running for state representative. If elected, he'll split his time between City Hall and the Roundhouse—an unenviable crunch when the Legislature is in session, but one potentially improved by the ability to hop on the pink line, switch at the Plaza and arrive in two more quick stops at the Capitol. Currently, that's an 11-minute walk, but if you've ever tried to penetrate the hordes of spring break tourists on the Plaza, you understand that hopping on a quick, quiet train would be #winning.
Fischer explains the dream-tube's name: "Because Santa Fe's full, original name is La Villa Real de la Santa Fé de San Francisco de Asís, denoting its status as a 'royal city,' we think it's fun to think of an alternate Santa Fe called Crown Town. Thus, the Crown Town Underground."
