SIX FEET UNDER
Season 5
It's always bittersweet when a favorite TV show is laid to rest. When one does so at the height of its success it can be even worse for fans. Whether
Six Feet Under
was a Sunday ritual or a show that was so acclaimed the conversion came later, the final season has just been released with extras that fans will love. In addition to telling the final tales of everyone's favorite funeral parlor owners, the twisted minds behind the show lend their commentary to several of the episodes and have included two featurettes documenting the impact talking about the dark and funny sides of death has on a culture that's, well, a little fearful of the Reaper.
NORTHERN EXPOSURE
Season 4
Before stealing the heart of Bo Derek or successful turns in
Sex and the City
and
My Big Fat Greek Wedding
, John Corbett stole hearts as Chris, Cicely, AK's hunky radio DJ and spiritual guru. This was a town with scenery and characters as bizarre as
Twin Peaks
, without the secrets. The simple show comes in a simple package with Season 4, a few deleted scenes and a gag reel are about all to spice it up, but this was the time when
Northern Exposure
's down-to-earth stories stood on their own, needing no adornment to give fans a nostalgic look at the town that made everyone want to pack it up and head for moose country.
DAWSON'S CREEK
Season 6
It's harder to make fun of those WB teeny-boppers now that several have made their way out of hormonally saturated love affairs (though the tabloids have enjoyed Katie Holmes' real-life one) and established themselves as talented actors, which the
90210
cast never managed to do. The final season of teenage angst finds Dawson (James Van Der Beek) and Joey (Holmes) taking one last shot at the romance that carried the show through its run and train wreck Jen (Michelle Williams) trying to put her life back together for a final time before heading out to
Brokeback Mountain
and (it's rumored) Woody Allen projects.
