[Peter] Komis is greedy landlord that has caused the local businesses to flee the Plaza. I had family and friends that had businesses around the Plaza, but no more. Thank God for stores like Ortega's. Tourist are starting to notice the BS.

Sr. Limón writes about Gustavo Arrellano's column Ask A Mexican and his book Taco USA, both [of which] have some amusing, and also crude items about "Mexican" things (food, music, culture, immigration, etc.), but then [the article] gets to "New Mexican" culture and goes on to tell about how New Mexicans (northern types, I assume) prefer to label themselves as Spanish American, Hispano, etc., but told in such a manner as to make the reader think that New Mexicans consider themselves "better" than the true Mexican from Mexico or those recently arrived. Both, Arrellano and Limón, these "outsiders," obviouslydo not know our Northern New Mexican history, nor culture, etc., and can only tell about it seemly jokingly, poking "those" Northern New Mexicans. This is not the first time Mr. Limón has used those "leading" questions to get and print his desired answers...If you do not like our manners, culture, history, food, etc. and other things that are Northern New Mexican, stay the hell out! Go back to where you came from, along with your crude/rude "jokes."

REEFER MADNESS
I wish you wouldn't publish letters such as Scott's [opinion: Nov. 13: "Just Say No"] without documentation. I've known a lot of people who run for reefers every time they hit bumps in their roads. Not one of them has become a junkie. I suspect Scott works with kids from environments that virtually coerce drug habits. Marijuana is not a gateway drug. It needs to be legalized. Arguments to the contrary never stand up under careful scrutiny. Legal prohibition has always been the real reefer madness.

This "artist" is one of the most ill-tempered artists I have ever known, removed from every single gallery she has shown in Santa Fe for being such a crank. I guess the work itself has redeeming qualities, but I am not sure of that.
HERBERT TOMLINSON
BAD TRIP
I was just going to congratulate the writer on a great article on Lisa Law but the comment from the disgruntled reader, Herbert Tomlinson, prompts me to point out that Lisa is not only a wonderful and giving person but is one of the most significant contributors to American culture in the world today. I'm only guessing…but it seems Herbert is still tripping on some bad acid from the '60s.

Staff writer Joey Peters [cover story: Nov. 15: "Jewel Duel"] wrote that Peter Komis inherited a downtown Santa Fe property. The property is owned by a family trust in which Komis has an interest, and he is the property manager.
Freelance writer Claudine LoMonaco [cover story: June 26: "Up In Smoke"] misidentified an employer for Thomas Sonntag-Roesing, the former engineer at a biomass test plant in Herten, Germany. He worked for Juergen Muehlen, who co-invented the technology used by Concord Blue. Sonntag-Roesing says he left the plant after Meuhlen stopped paying him.
