Dumb Dems, Greedy Media produce Trump sequel
This defeat was inevitable. Why? Because for decades the Dems have chosen to turn a blind eye to reality, including very real voter perceptions, and major media have chosen to bow to the gods of profit versus their watchdog responsibility in sustaining democracy.
Saying Dems lost because of money is nothing more than a cop-out. Saying getting Dems to unify is like herding cats is a cop-out.
This has been orchestrated by [Mitch] McConnell for more than 20 years. But Dems have arrogantly chosen to ignore what has been building in front of their eyes.
Millions of Dems, for years, have watched the ongoing ineffective Dem messaging with fear and anger and frustration as apparently nothing could derail its trajectory. Trump gained the presidency in 2016 via the electoral college without the popular vote. Dems blithely ignored the message. Biden barely gained the presidency in 2020, still Dems ignored the undercurrent as it continued to gain strength no matter how off-the-wall Trump became. Since Dems steadfastly ignored the increasing might of the riptide, this was the inevitable outcome. And Harris said she’d do nothing different.
The question now is whether this is the end of our democracy, or whether it can be reclaimed in decades ahead. As long as Dem leadership continues on its current blind, arrogant path, and major media prefers profit to its watchdog role, 11/5/24 was truly the day the music died.
First they convince the naive, then they control the money. We’ve had every ability to derail the insanity, but Dem “leadership” and media greed betrayed us all. All but those at the top of power and wealth will suffer. As will this planet and its continued ability to sustain life, including ours. We have been betrayed by far more than the Con Man.

Opinion, Nov 6: “Sasha Abramsky”
Straight Outta Texas
Recently, I read with an ample amount of consternation the letter/statement/rant by the recently hired Sasha Abramsky the new National Affairs Correspondent, regarding the possible, but almost certain, detrimental aftermaths of a possible second term of Donald Trump. It was probably the most hyperbolic, fear-mongering and tedious rant of ‘what ifs’ ever penned by a journalist in recent memory: “Giant detention camps” and “politically motivated show trials” as if the recent NY trials of Trump were not. For a journalist supposedly raised in the finest (?) traditions of journalistic excellence, Abramsky failed to cite any references for the spurious claims about the now President-elect. Abramsky, having connections to the West Coast has amply demonstrated the age old adage about California being The Land of Fruits and Nuts. SFR’s willingness to support this exaggeration is further confirmation of the “Californification” of New Mexico, which began in the 1980s with the housing rush created by rich Californians relocating to SF, is now virtually complete. Marxist-haven residents of Santa Fe may now rest easy knowing they are fully in touch with the great unknown somewhere out there in La La Land. Your ship arrives shortly in Roswell.
