New Mexico health officials today reported 647 new COVID-19 cases reported over the weekend and today, bringing the statewide total so far to 193,987. The health department has designated 175,380 of those cases as recovered.
Last Friday, the health department announced it would no longer issue weekend COVID-19 reports and would, instead, report consolidated numbers on Mondays.
Bernalillo County had 227 cases over the three-time day period, followed by Doña Ana County with 83 and San Juan County with 75. Santa Fe County had 17 new cases and has now had 9,924 cases all together, 9,358 of which have been designated as recovered.
The state also announced three additional deaths over the course of the reporting time. There have now been 3,979 fatalities.
As of today, 101 people are hospitalized with COVID-19—five fewer than Friday.*
Currently, 52.7% of New Mexicans 16 years and older have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine and 34.8% % are fully vaccinated. In Santa Fe County, 51.8% have had at least one dose and 32.5 % are fully inoculated. Los Alamos County currently has the largest percentage of fully vaccinated residents: 67%, while Roosevelt County has the least: 26.3%

According to a health department news release, previously reported numbers included 27 cases that have been identified as duplicates (nine in Bernalillo County, seven in Chaves County, one in Cibola County, one in Doña Ana County, five in Eddy County, one in McKinley County, one in Rio Arriba County, one in Sandoval County and one in Valencia County) and one case in Bernalillo County that was not lab confirmed—these have now been corrected. County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.
