COVID-19 Map
As foretold last week by Health Secretary Dr. Tracie Collins, as of today, all New Mexicans 16 years and older can now self-schedule their COVID-19 vaccines. Officials encourage people who do not find appointments at first to continue checking as providers open up more spots.
As of today, 57% of New Mexicans have had at least one dose and 40.8% are fully vaccinated. In Santa Fe County, 62.1% have had at least one dose and 39.5% are fully vaccinated.
New Mexico health officials today reported 673 new COVID-19 cases between April 24 to April 26. There have now been a total of 196,844 cases; the health department has designated 177,866 of them as recovered.
Bernalillo County had 228 new cases over the three-day reporting period, followed by San Juan County with 110 and Doña Ana County with 65. Santa Fe County had 28 new cases.
The state also announced three additional deaths over the last three days; there have now been 4,027 fatalities.
As of today, 112 people are hospitalized with COVID-19.*

New fatalities
- A female in her 80s from Bernalillo County who had underlying conditions and was a resident of the Las Palomas Center in Albuquerque
- A female in her 80s from Chaves County who was hospitalized
- A female in her 20s from Cibola County who was hospitalized and had underlying conditions

The Department of Health has identified at least one positive COVID-19 case in residents and/or staff in the past 28 days at the following facilities:

Statewide cases
According to a health department news release, previously reported numbers included 44 cases that have been identified as duplicates (six in Bernalillo County, six in Chaves County, five in Doña Ana County, five in Lea County, four in Lincoln County, four in McKinley County, two in Rio Arriba County, one in Roosevelt County, one in San Miguel County, four in Sandoval County and six in Santa Fe County), as well as five cases that were not lab confirmed (two in Bernalillo County and three in Doña Ana County); and one in Doña Ana County that has been determined to be an out-of-state resident—these have now been corrected from the statewide totals. County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.
