How does cannabis interact with other medicines?
Last month we featured a primer on cannabinoid interactions with other commonly taken pharmaceuticals, produced by Project CBD. We found it so helpful, we wanted to make sure everybody saw it. One main takeaway: Because CBD is so packed into over-the-counter cannabis products, drug interactions are much more likely with high-dose CBD therapy than other forms of cannabis consumption. Don't miss another Project CBD publication comparing the effects of CBD isolates versus CBD-rich cannabis oil extracts on epilepsy symptoms.

Michigan legalizes it
Michigan became the 10th state in the country to legalize the possession and sale of cannabis for adults. Voters approved some of the most generous cannabis laws so far, allowing people to grow twice as many plants per household than most other states. Here are the basics of the law.
Drama in Utah over medical cannabis
Voters in Utah approved a ballot measure legalizing medical marijuana in the state. But the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, which has fiercely opposed the idea, is pushing the state's legislature to swap the measure with a more restrictive bill. An intense legal battle over the matter is brewing.
Missouri to tax medical cannabis for veterans’ services
Missourians approved by a comfortable margin a ballot to tax and sell medical cannabis. Revenue from the tax will pay for medical services for veterans. Meanwhile, the election of Democrat Laura Kelly as governor of Kansas has added momentum to a campaign for medical marijuana in that state. Marijuana is legal for medical purposes in 32 states.
North Dakota voters strike down recreational cannabis
By a margin of 41 to 59, North Dakota said no to reccan. It would have been one of the least restrictive arrangements in the country, with no limits to the amount of cannabis people could cultivate or possess. It would have also expunged cannabis-related convictions. The state only voted in a medical program two years ago, and adult use might need more time to build support.
Legal weed in Arizona?
Maybe not yet, but the editorial page editor of the Arizona Republic seems to think it's inevitable. Phillip Boas makes sure to repeat (many times) that he's not a fan of cannabis, and doesn't want it to be legalized in Arizona. But he argues it's better to get ahead of the trend than be caught flatfooted by some "pothead" legislators. It's a similar argument to one that a New Mexico state senator told SFR last week.
