Hot off the heels of opening its Omega Mart installation in Las Vegas last month, arts mega-corporation Meow Wolf announced it will reopen its Santa Fe location, House of Eternal Return after the COVID-19 pandemic forced its doors closed roughly one year ago.
"The state has reviewed Meow Wolf's health protocols and is satisfied with the important efforts they have made to safeguard the health and welfare of visitors," says Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, according to a press release from Meow Wolf. "I'm personally very excited to have places like Meow Wolf back open."
But wait—aren't we supposed to touch everything all up in there? Well, yes and no. In addition to capping occupancy numbers at 25% of maximum capacity, Meow Wolf has also reportedly developed an app that will allow visitors to unveil its narrative elements through their phones. Additionally, aspects such as the popular wormhole hidden in the house's dryer are closed to touch, but still fully photographable.
"Visitors will still be able to take the perfect Instagram shot," reads the release.
Other precautions include temperature checks at the door, required face masks, strict social distancing, an upgraded HVAC system and hand sanitizer stations scattered throughout the building. Employees are also reportedly being tested for COVID-19 regularly.
