COVID-19 Map
In the final days of New Mexico’s COVID-19 restrictions, just over 70%—70.7% to be exact—of residents 16 years and older have had at least one dose of a vaccine, marking a “significant milestone,” the health department said in a news release. Meanwhile, 62% have been fully vaccinated.
“After hitting our 60% goal, we continue to make steady progress,” Health Secretary Dr. Tracie Collins said in a statement.
In Santa Fe County, 78.3% of residents 16 years and older have had one dose and 69.5% are fully vaccinated. The latest vaccination figures come as the state prepares to transition out of its red-to-green COVID-19 public health law and eliminate most restrictions as of July 1.
Cases also continue to decline, with New Mexico health officials today reporting 52 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the statewide total so far to 205,484. DOH has designated 194,474 of those cases as recovered.
Bernalillo County had 14 new cases, followed by Rio Arriba County with six and Santa Fe County with five, two from the 87506 ZIP code, which constituted 10th highest number of new cases in the state.
The state also announced two additional deaths; there have now been 4,338 fatalities.
As of today, 75 people are hospitalized with COVID-19.*

Statewide cases
According to a health department news release, previously reported numbers included five cases that have been identified as duplicates (one in Bernalillo County, one in Catron County, one in Chaves County, one in Lea County and one in San Juan County); and one in Lea County that has been determined to be an out-of-state resident—these have now been corrected. County totals are subject to change upon further investigation and determination of residency of individuals positive for COVID-19.
